Summary of Position
Linear Retail is looking for an organized and driven Corporate Accountant to join our team. The Corporate Accountant position reports to the Accounting Manager and handles the day-to-day accounting at Linear. We are seeking an intelligent, hard-working individual that is eager to join our team. The Corporate Accountant will maintain the corporate bookkeeping, prepare reconciliations and financial reports.

Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an individual who possesses sharp attention to detail and organizational skills. He/she will have impeccable integrity and the highest quality standards. The primary job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Record and process cash receipts
  • Oversee corporate accounts payable
  • Track & reconcile intercompany expenses and related reimbursements
  • Prepare & post journal entries in the accounting system
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger within MS Access databases
  • Maintain internal controls, procedures, and related documentation
  • Reconcile and maintain certain balance sheet accounts
  • Communicate/collaborate with internal asset managers, third party property managers/property accountants
  • Assist with:
    • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closes
    • Quarterly financial reports
    • Preparation of support in connection with the annual external audit and bi-annual internal audit
    • Property insurance administration
    • Preparation and issuance of annual IRS form 1099s to vendors
    • Improvement/automation of systems and procedures
    • Ad-hoc projects as needed

Skills and Requirements:

  • College degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience
  • Experience/knowledge of Sage 50 or similar bookkeeping application a plus
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite with a focus on Excel and Access
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
