Chipotle was founded by Steve Ells in 1993 with the idea that food served fast did not have to be a typical fast food experience. Today, with a focus on being real, Chipotle offers a menu featuring burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, and salads featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients which are sustainably grown and meat which is responsibly raised with some of the highest animal welfare standards.
With a focus on sustainability, Chipotle commits to diverting 50% of their waste to landfills. In 2018, they began a pilot program recycling their used plastic gloves into waste bags that we use in 43% of our very own restaurants. Today, there are over 2500 locations operating.
