Linear Retail Acquires Roslindale Retail Property

Roslindale_745 South Street_low res(Burlington, MA; 10/05/2015)- Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced today that it has acquired 745 South Street in Roslindale, MA, a 4,600 SF single-story retail property.

The property is located in downtown Roslindale Village and is leased to Unleashed, Petco’s urban store concept. Unleashed has similar product offerings to Petco, but is a smaller model created for urban markets. The store opened on September 17, 2015.

The Giroux Building Lexington Giroux Building on Massachusetts Avenue Acquired

(Burlington, MA; 06/24/2015)- Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced today that it has acquired the Giroux Building, an 18,228 square foot multi-tenant, store-front retail property located at 1833-1853 Massachusetts Avenue in downtown Lexington, MA.

The Giroux Building offers frontage on four streets including Massachusetts Avenue, Meriam Street, Depot Square and Depot Place and overlooks the historic Buckman Tavern and Battle Green in Lexington Center. The fully leased store block is comprised of nine local and regional tenants including Via Lago Restaurant, Yangtze River Restaurant, Eastern Bank and Dellaria Salon. The purchase price of the property was $10,465,000. The Seller, The Giroux Building Limited Partnership, was represented by Connie Neville of Sperry Van Ness/Neville & Associates.

Linear Retail Acquires North Andover and Waltham Shopping Centers for $57,500,000

Linear Retail acquires $57.5M portfolio(Burlington, MA; 06/11/2015)- Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced today that it has acquired a 124,093 square foot Massachusetts retail portfolio consisting of Eaglewood Shops at 175 Turnpike Street in North Andover, Main Street Marketplace at 1030 Main Street in Waltham, MA and the adjacent 1036 Main Street in Waltham, MA.

Eaglewood Shops is a 77,558 SF shopping center comprised of three buildings. The center was developed in 2005 and is situated along Route 114, the primary retail corridor of North Andover. The center is fully leased. Key tenants include; Burtons Grill, Staples, Pier 1 Imports, Jos. A. Bank and Chipotle. The purchase price was $34,250,000.

Main Street Marketplace is a 44,461 SF shopping center built in 2013, located on Route 20 (Weston Street) and Route 117 (Main Street) in Waltham. The center is fully leased. Key tenants include; Panera Bread, Chipotle, Five Guys, Party City, Pet Supplies Plus, and Aspen Dental. The purchase price was $22,400,000. An adjacent 2,074 SF single-tenant building at 1036 Main Street was also purchased. The purchase price was $850,000.

Florijn Home Now Open in Wellesley

Wellesley Florijn Home(Burlington, MA; 12/19/14)- Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced that Florijn Home is now open at their Central Plaza at 90 Central Street in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Florijn Home is a new boutique home décor store in Wellesley, MA and is the only one of its kind. The store, pronounced “Flor-ine” gets its name from the Dutch spelling of the word “Florin,” the gold standard in Europe since the time of the Medici bank (Florin, for Florence). The store carries products of the Northern European aesthetic with pieces from around the world including everything from votives, lanterns and dishware through furniture and artwork. Florijn Home is owned by the Barreveld Family.

Lauren Rogers Joins Linear Retail As Asset Manager

LRogers_7376_Bcrop-for-website2(Burlington 11/6/2014)–  Linear Retail announced today the most recent addition to the Asset Management team, Lauren Rogers.  Lauren manages a portfolio of Linear’s suburban and urban condominium retail properties. She is responsible for creating and implementing the strategic vision for each asset by utilizing Linear’s in-house leasing, marketing, development and construction teams.

Prior to joining Linear, Lauren spent nearly a decade working in the retail industry in New York City. She started her retail career at Le Pain Quotidien working in franchising and operational services and later served as Director of Real Estate. There, Lauren led the restaurant’s expansion to locations in NYC, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Following her time at Le Pain Quotidien, Lauren was the Senior Real Estate Manager for Blink Fitness and was responsible for suburban site selection and lease negotiation.

Linear Retail Hires Eric Banks as Portfolio Controller

(Eric-Banks-Linear-RetialBurlington, MA; 08/21/2014)- Linear Retail Properties, LLC announced today its recent hire of Eric Banks as Portfolio Controller.

As Portfolio Controller he supervises the property accounting and financial reporting processes. He also provides oversight of Linear’s internal control and audit functions.

Eric has been a real estate accountant for over 10 years. He is experienced in many facets of property and corporate accounting. He is also proficient in accounting for business operations and construction projects. Prior to joining Linear Retail, Eric spent 8 years working for REIT Management & Research, LLC (RMR) in Newton, MA. RMR provides real estate services and business management to several publicly traded REITs and real estate operating companies.

Eric is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Massachusetts. He has a Master of Science in Accounting from The University of Massachusetts Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Updates at Linear: New Acquisitions Analyst, Podaski Makes VP, Drocz Moves To Asset Management

Jared Jammal, Diana Podaski, Greg Drocz(Burlington, MA; 3/21/2014) – Jared Jammal joined Linear Retail as an Analyst in the Acquisitions Department. He is responsible for supporting the Head of Acquisitions as well as working with the Asset Management and Leasing teams. In his role, Jared is responsible for modeling, analyzing and supporting various acquisitions activities.

Prior to joining Linear, Jared worked for Admirals Bank, a federally chartered savings bank located in Boston. While at Admirals, Jared first worked in the Real Estate Department valuing various types of commercial real estate as collateral on purchased loans from markets across the country.

Linear Launches Responsive Website

(Burlington, MA; 2/12/2014)- Linear Retail announced today that it has launched a new responsive design website. The new design creates a better user experience and increases average visit duration by automatically adapting to various devices including PC, mobile phones, and tablets.

Diana Podaski, Linear Retail’s VP of Marketing & Social Media commented, “It’s hard to keep up with technology but watching our mobile phone traffic triple and tablet traffic double in 2013 compared to the year before, moving to a responsive design was imperative. We want to be sure that mobile visitors are getting as good of an experience as those visiting from a PC.”

Peet’s Coffee & Tea To Open On Charles Street Beacon Hill

First Boston Location for High End Specialty Coffee Shop

(Burlington, MA; 02/07/2014)Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced today that Peet’s Coffee & Tea, based in Berkeley, California, has signed a lease for space at the corner of Charles Street and Mt. Vernon Street in the heart of Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.

The 1,842 square foot Peet’s Coffee & Tea Boston shop, at 62 Charles Street, will offer its trademark specialty coffee and tea along with gourmet baked goods in an inviting, upscale setting. The location is in the center of Beacon Hill’s Historic District, two blocks from Boston Common and the Public Gardens. Pat Paladino of Colliers represented Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Adam Conviser of Conviser Property Group represented Linear Retail Properties, LLC.

Paladino commented, “Peet’s goal is to serve its local community and create a special place for residents to meet and relax. Linear Retail’s property is the perfect site for our first Boston gourmet coffee shop”.

Linear Retail Acquires Newbury St. & North End Properties

Uno's Restaurant Nashua(Burlington, MA; 01/14/2014)– Linear Retail Properties, LLC, announced today two retail property acquisitions in Boston, Massachusetts at 48-50 Salem Street in Boston’s North End and 249 Newbury Street in Boston’s Back Bay. These separate transactions both closed on December 30, 2013.

The Salem Street property fronts the Rose Kennedy Greenway at the corner of Salem and Cross Streets. The two story property totaling 1,920 square feet is currently occupied by Goody Glover’s Bar & Bistro and a Bank of America ATM. The purchase price of 48-50 Salem Street was $2,075,000.
